Birder's Checklist for Clatsop County, Oregon

One of the top birders in Oregon, Mike Patterson, lives in Astoria and has compiled a checklist for Clatsop County, Oregon.  We are the county in the northwestern corner of the state.  We have over 40 miles of both sandy and rocky shoreline along our west side on the Pacific Ocean.  Our northern border is the Columbia River.  We have coastal lowlands, large and small river valleys, wooded hills and steep, rocky mountains in our Coast Range.  We are on the Pacific Flyway which is squeezed into a narrow space between the Coast Range and the Pacific Ocean.  All of those things add up to an abundance of birds and a lot of species to see.
